Ernestine Balisi performed the Star Spangled Banner at the
San Jose Giants game on Sept. 5. Ernestine will be at PYT a
lot the next few months as she and fellow alum Dan Hurst are
choreographing our upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz.
Congratulations to Katie O'Bryon - Katie received an ERMA award from West Valley Light Opera for her performance in Sweet Charity, and was named one of Wave Magazine's artists to watch for next season!

Alex Watson Tremellen finished up her summer after playing Edmund in Narnia by working as an extra on the new Brad Pitt movie Moneyball, filming at the Oakland coliseum. Ernestine Balisi appears in Bus Barn Stage Co.'s production of Smokey Joe's Cafe running Sept. 2 - Oct. 2 in Los Altos. Katie Caldwell will be attending the honors program at Emerson College in Boston studying Writing, Literature and Publishing. Claire Uschersohn will be attending the dramatic literature program at NYU in the fall. Emily Borromeo has been cast in the role of Nell in the new
Off-Broadway musical I'll Be Damned, which is making its
premiere at the Vineyard Theater in New York City in July. Emily is
excited to perform with Broadway veterans, including Tony
Award nominees Mary Testa, Kenita Miller and Kurt Robbins.

Alison Koch will be interning with the Livermore Shakespeare Festival Company this summer and will also be a member of the Romeo and Juliet ensemble. Performances are July 8 – August 7th. Molly Murphy reprises her role as Miss Dorothy in Santa Clara University’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie running May 28-30 & June 1-5. This summer Molly will be seen in the Foothill Music Theatre production of Anything Goes, July 23 - August 15. Jonathan Murphy has been cast in the Festival Theatre Ensemble/Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival's 2010 season and will be performing the roles of Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest, Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew, and Dr. Livesey in Bruce de les Dernier’s adaptation of Treasure Island. Performances take place in Menlo Park and Los Gatos June 5 - August 7.
Catherine Smith will be attending USC Thornton's School of
Music Popular Music program starting in mid August. She is a
singer-songwriter and can be seen performing at the Blue Rock
Shoot in Saratoga on May 14, Chase on the Plaza in downtown Los
Altos on June 11th, Relay for Life in Los Altos on June 12th and the
Red Rock Cafe in Mountain View on July 26th. Her brother Connor
Smith is finishing his junior year at Loyola Marymount
University where he is a theater arts major.
Ally Bolognini will be going to UCLA's school of Theatre, Film &
Television in the fall for stage management and production. Katherine Goldman will be performing in The Alcestiad at USC, April 1st-4th. The show is directed by Jason Robert Brown, who also wrote music for the show. She is a member of the four-woman chorus. Jennifer Spindler has been cast as Kleonike in Gonzaga University's production of "Lysistrata" opening the end of March. Jeremy Davies can be seen in West Valley Light Opera's upcoming production of Sweet Charity running through April 10, and then in Marquee Productions' Singin' in the Rain. Jeremy will also be directing and choreographing the PYT Alumni Association's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Click HERE for tickets! Judd Yort appears as Ryan in Sunnyvale Community Players' production of High School Musical 2, playing through March 21. Sean will next be seen on stage as Rapunzel's Prince in the USC School of Theatre's production of Into the Woods. Claire Uschersohn has been cast in the role of Philia in Menlo-Atherton High School's production of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Performances are being held March 12-20. Alison Koch appeared as the Nurse in the University of the Pacific (UOP) production of Romeo and Juliet in October 2009. Alison was also cast as the central character Lily in Blue Window which plays in March 2010. Jennifer Spindler was cast as Lydia (the youngest sister) in Gonzaga University's Fall 2009 production of Pride and Prejudice. From her performance, she was selected for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship national competition.

Through April 25, Nic Rouleau is sailing the Bahamas on the Disney Cruise Lines’ Disney Wonder, performing as Woody in Toy Story: The Musical. Andrew Willis-Woodward appears
in Cole Porter and Moss Hart's Jubilee,
running Nov. 25-Dec. 13 at 42nd Street Moon. Emily Borromeo performed the role of Marcy Park in the Riverside Theatre's production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in Vero Beach, Florida. She made great friends on the cast, and is excited to have earned her Actor's Equity card with this show. It has been a work in progress, but Emily's website is up at www.emilyborromeo.com. Travis Leland was named one of Wave Magazine's "Local Actors to Watch." Brian Miller was the assistant director of The Servant of Two Masters at Monta Vista Theatre Arts. Ryan Szelong and Izzy Bolognini appear in St. Francis High School's production of David and Lisa, running through Nov. 21. Sean Kranz will be playing the role of Bobby in the USC School Of Theatre Experimentals' production of Company with Katherine Goldman as Kathy. The show performs November 19th-22nd in the USC Massman Theatre. Sean will also be making his directing debut with Musical Theatre Repertory of USC's production of Urinetown performing in the USC Massman Theatre January 21st-24th. A new "Broadway Baby" joined the PYT family on August 27th when Executive Director Karen Simpson and husband Mike Gardiner welcomed a little girl to their family. Annabel Grace joins big brother Theo. Justine Lauren works for the Commercial Department at Venture IAB Talent Agency down in Los Angeles. Christian Hegg is currently living in Boston, MA working for Tufts Health Plan, a health insurance company. He recently also stage managed a production of You Can't Take With You at The Footlight Club, the country's oldest community theatre. Sean Kranz is portraying the role of Dr. Parker in the USC School of Theatre Experimentals production of Bat Boy the Musical performing Oct 8th-11th. Katherine Goldman will be playing the role of Maggie in the show. Ernestine Balisi is returning to perform with Royal Caribbean International on the Nickelodeon Family Cruise Line this summer! She will once again share the stage with Tom Kenny (most famous for the voice of Spongebob Squarepants), as well as the many main stage productions on board. The two cruises of "sun, surf and slime" will take her through the Mexican Riviera on July 26-August 2, 2009, and the Eastern Caribbean on August 9-16, 2009. Stack Performing Arts Scholarship by the Pacifica Spindrift Players. Emily Borromeo graduated from Brown University, and capped her college years by performing as Sally Bowles in the Theater Department's production of Cabaret, and being awarded by the department as a William Weston '43 Fine Arts award honoree for musical theater. On commencement weekend she performed in Get Close, a one person play she wrote, directed, produced, and acted as part of the Theater department's honors "Solo Performance" class. Emily plans on continuing her career in musical theater. Laila Smith and friends Yuma Sung (keyboard), Ken Okada (bass) and Jojo Ramirez (drums) performed at the St. Joseph School Festival on May 29. Click HERE for a taste of some of Laila's work! Lara Mar has auditioned & been accepted as a character performer for Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL as a part of the Disney College Program. She will perform from August 09-Jan 10. Megan Putnam, performed the role of Leni in Franz Kafka’s The Trail at NYU’s Tisch School of Performing Arts in New York. Jonathan Murphy will be in the Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Merry Wives of Windsor and Jungle Book this summer. The festival runs July 17 - August 8 in Oak Meadow Park under the stars. Molly Murphy performed in the premiere of Over the Mountain at Santa Clara University. Molly will next be seen in SCU's production of Songs for a New World, running May 8 - May 16. Emily Ota recently performed as an extra in the feature-length horror movie All About Evil, directed by Joshua Grannell in San Francisco. The film will most likely be released this fall. Emily also recently completed her first professional theatrical production with Palo Alto Players, portraying one of the king's wives in The King and I. Congratulations to Julian Hornik, who recently won a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Supporting Performance, Male (in a musical) for his performance in Caroline, or Change at TheatreWorks. Lara Mar appeared in the world premier of "Grimm" ... a new musical, written by two seniors at St. John's University in New York, New York. The show ran February 20 - 27. Craig Piaget appears as Young Amir and in the ensemble of San Jose Repertory Theatre's production of The Kite Runner, running March 21 - April 19. Kendall Bartlett appears in a cabaret performance of movie music at Santa Clara University's Meyer Theatre March 12 & 13. Fiona Lawson recently appeared as Ophelia in Arclight RepertoryTheatre's radio production of Hamlet at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library in downtown San Jose. Fiona will also be performing in Defying Gravity at Hillbarn Theatre, running March 12 - April 5. Jennifer Spindler will play "Hope Cladwell" in Gonzaga University's production of "Urinetown" performing March/April 2009. Becca Wolber, Erin Farrell, Sara Breslin, Zach Garcia, Sage Yort and Judd Yort can be seen in Los Altos High's production of Beauty and the Beast running Feb 26 to March 1.
